Player Magazine's
Boutique Giveaway of a
Bruno Underground 30
The January 1999 Issue Features the
Tony Bruno Custom Underground 30 Amplifier.
Check out what they say about this
remarkable amplifier. |

"In France they call it "faire
du leche vitrine" which basically
means "licking windows." Here
we say " window shopping,"
but when it comes to gear like this,
most of us never get past the glass.
"Dream on," we tell ourselves.
"Gear like that is for people who
don't even carry their own guitars,"
we say. Well things are about to change
for one lucky jongleur! Because this
month we are giving away two exquisite,
all-handmade instruments: an Underground
30 2X12 combo amplifier by Tony Bruno
Custom Amps and a Genesis Three by Modulus
Guitars---all to one (extremely fortunate)
winner! |
The Underground 30 is Tony
Bruno's baby---built from the ground up
by Tony himself. The Fane alnico speakers
are made to his exact specifications, as
is the solid pine/birch baffle cabinet that
houses them. This hand-wired beauty includes
Tony's legendary three-knob reverb, an impedance
selector, and aged ivory chicken-head knobs.
With 36 watts of class-A power from four
EL84s, three 12AX7s, and a GZ34 rectifier
(with two additional 12AX7s and an EL84
for the reverb circuit) the Underground
30 dishes out tone like redemption at the
Vatican. In the ever expanding stable of
boutique gear, this amp is a thoroughbred;
you've never owned an amp like this, because
there are no other amps like this. Value:
$2,700"
